Targetted MArketing RJR canclled a planned test market of Uptown following a surge of protest from the African-American community in Philadelphia and protests form the Secretary of Health & Human Services, Uptown was never ut on the market. A unique feature of its packaging was that the filters were placed at the bottom of the pack (1990). RJR developed Dakota for "virile females". It was test marketed in Houston (1990).
