American Spirit emails notified recipients of new "paperless" coupons they could claim via their mobile phones. When following the link to the brand website on a mobile device, the viewer is greeted by a message heralding the brand's "spirit of sustainability" and can scroll down to follow the instructions to claim gift certificates redeemable in certain stores only. The site uses the phone's GPS and location information to give a list of available retailers and the coupon is only valid for a few minutes. Screenshots taken in October 2017.
